BIO 2010 IN CHICAGO: FANTASTIC ATMOSPHERE DESPITE FEWER EXHIBITORS
BIO International Convention, the world’s biggest biotech expo, was attended by more than 15,000 participants from 65 countries when it was held May 4–6. Although the sector survived the global slump largely unscathed, the impact of the crisis was reflected in the reduced numbers of exhibitors with some 1,700 businesses and organizations on hand with their own booths.
The German national pavilion was among the largest at the expo alongside those representing Canada, France, Scandinavia, Spain and the UK. The joint stand hosted by the Saxony Economic Development Corporation and biosaxony drew visitors from all over the world and proved to be a successful presentation of Saxony as a key region for the life sciences in Germany and abroad.
