DFG funds excellence in regenerative medicine for another 4 years in Dresden

The funding for the CRTD is assured for another four years until 2013. The steering committee of the German Research Association (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft – DFG) informed the center today about the continuance of the funding with about 30 million Euros in the next four years. After the evaluation in May this year by an international expert committee, the DFG announced the official result today. The DFG funds the research center and the cluster of excellence now together with about 8.9 million Euros. The experts see the CRTD in the area of regenerative medicine as one of the best five institutes worldwide with a unique approach. The CRTD developed excellently in the first four years. The Dresden University of Technology and the Free State of Saxony have strongly supported the CRTD in the last years. The CRTD was established as a central scientific unit of the TU Dresden for example.
