TRM Leipzig: Symposium on Transplantation and Stem Cells
The Translational Centre for Regenerative Medicine (TRM) Leipzig and the Interdisciplinary Centre "Medizin-Ethik-Recht" (MER) of the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg hosted the Symposium on Transplantation and Stem Cells in December 2009. Numerous national experts from research, medicine, law and ethics discussed the various aspects of ethics and law in both transplantation medicine and practical research of regenerative medicine focussing on stem cell research.
Among the speakers were Prof. Dr. Dr. Eckhard Nagel (University Bayreuth and Deutscher Ethikrat), Dr. Thorsten Moos (Evangelische Akademie Sachsen-Anhalt Wittenberg), Dr. Jana Straßburger (Federal Ministry of Health Berlin), Dr. Wiebke Pühler (Bundesärztekammer Berlin), Prof. Dr. Hans Lilie (MER, Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg), Prof. Dr. Frank Emmrich (TRM Leipzig and Deutscher Ethikrat).
An edited volume from the symposium will be published in 2010.
